Holly G. Burgess, Traffic Manager, NESN
Since
2006, Holly Burgess has served as NESN’s Traffic Manager. She is
responsible for creating formats for all in-house productions,
specializing in live programming including Red Sox and Bruins coverage.
During her time at NESN, the network has boasted a leading market
position as one of the most popular media services in New England
distributed to over 4.2 million homes in the region with national
distribution through DirecTV and Dish Network. The definitive source
for New England sports programming, NESN’s Emmy Award winning Red Sox
coverage has been the highest rated baseball broadcast in the country
for 6 consecutive years.
Burgess hails from Weymouth, Massachusetts getting her start in
television at WLVI-TV in Boston as a temporary receptionist. She
learned the traffic side of the business as a traffic assistant at WLVI
where she eventually assumed the role of credit manager. Two years
later, when she was only 26 years old, Burgess was promoted to traffic
manager and spent the next five years in that role in Hartford, CT at
Fox 61 WTIC and WB 20 WTXX.
Burgess has been a member of the New England Chapter of Women in Cable
Telecommunications (WICT) since 2007. In 2009 she took on the
role of sponsorship director and is serving in that roll on 2010 WICT
New England board. She has also served as a mentor through the WICT
mentoring program.
